Hope It Was Nothing To Do With Us

After being struck on the leg by Milly last weekend, nonagenarian umpire Charlie Fenton has decided to call it a day at the end of the season. This means that there will be one less umpire for Gibbo to say "Should have gone to Specsavers" about, but we wish Mr Fenton well in his retirement.

There were some blue skies about yesterday, and that has prompted bouts of optimism amongst amateur weather forecasters. "Its going to be nice at the weekend" is a continuous suggestion, but as of Thursday the rain has returned with avengeance. I already fear the worst for the 2nds game at home to Hollingworth, and telling me that it is going to be nice is very much like one of the following:-

Telling the sinking skipper of the Titanic that the iceberg will melt
Telling the mayor of Pompeii that the volcano has stopped
Telling Steve Irwin's wife that stingrays dont normally attack

or make your own up!
