Whaley Bridge 2nd XI v Buxworth (home) 23rd August 2014

posted 10 Sept 2014, 06:38 by Mike Madden
High flying Buxworth came to Whaley Bridge with a weakened team, and our boys certainly made them pay. Colin clean bowled both openers, whilst Reuben took a wicket when the captain took a smart catch in the slips.Colin got a third wicket clean bowled, but the visitors were starting to gain momentum. Bruce Glover and Will McIlveen both took wickets clean bowled, but it was Reuben who dismissed the danger man after a fine running catch from Ole Madden. Reuben took a catch off Ethan and Elliot took a catch off Will who wrapped up the innings with his third wicket, this time clean bowled. 94 all out was not a huge target, and Elliot and Harry Bold set about the task with determination. A few overs in and they were untroubled. They went on to record an unbeaten 96 run partnership as we recorded an impressive 10 wicket victory over our local rivals.
