Whaley Bridge 2nd XI v Charlesworth (away) 3rd May 2015

Even less to say about this game. It was a Hawke Trophy match on a Sunday - and availabilities were tight. The weather was against us, but it turned out to be ok when we arrived at the ground. We lost the toss and batted. Nigel Morten played one of the worst shots I have ever seen an opening batsman play as he was bowled for 1, then Ivan Heathcote was caught behind for 2. The captain tried everything he could to get caught, and he eventually achieved this on 34. Peter Crowley was unbeaten on 8 and George Holden hadn't faced a ball when thunder and lightning appeared. An hour and a half and a magnificent tea later we called it a day, and we have to do it all over again in two weeks time!
