Another defeat for under 16s

With King's School exams taking priority, it was an under strength side that took on Chapel at Horwich Park. The Chapel manager persuaded Milly that they were even more under strength, and in the interests of having a full game Whaley should bat first. Milly agreed, but when Dan Mulholland, Harry Bold and Henry Holden all went cheaply it looked as though the plan would backfire. Ben Stones put in a gutsy performance, aided by Steven Weston, as the score pushed past 50. Ole Madden replaced Ben, and together with Steven they reached 69 for 4 at the end of 20 overs, a score that never looked like being enough. This proved to be the case as Chapel cruised to victory, the only wicket coming when Scholesy's umpiring was called in to question as he gave a surprising lbw decision.
